Senior Civil Engineer

General Summary:

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Civil Engineer to assist in developing, managing, and expanding our site development and redevelopment services.

This self-motivated senior-level manager must be comfortable making authoritative decisions and recommendations to improve the climate and outlook of civil engineering operations including: initiating, maintaining, and nurturing valuable relationships with key clients, prospects, state and local authorities, and other industry individuals; preparing and delivering presentations to potential and existing clients; and taking part in trade organizations, conferences and other local associations and events.

The individual in this position will demonstrate: a high degree of resourcefulness, foresight, and sensible judgment in anticipating and solving unforeseen engineering challenges; the ability to determine current and potential project objectives and requirements; skills in managing, presenting, and completing projects; and the ability to enhance standards and guidelines for various engineering activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering.
  • Professional Engineering license.
  • 8+ years of experience with civil and environmental projects.

  • Team builder, action-oriented, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Valid US Driver's License.

Senior EHS Project Manager

General Summary:

We have an immediate opening for a Senior Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Project Manager professional. The successful candidate will serve as a Project Manager and will be integral in meeting a growing demand from existing clients for a wide range of EHS consulting services.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

Maintaining and growing existing client relationships
Fostering new client relationships
Overseeing and mentoring staff EHS specialists
Providing various EHS consulting services to clients primarily in waste, petroleum, energy, manufacturing and educational sectors, such as:

  • Evaluating and strengthening client EHS programs,
  • Preparing and/or reviewing written EHS programs, policies, procedures and plans,
  • Researching and preparing detailed chemical reporting (Tier II, Form R, MAIRIS, etc.)
  • Serving as an outsourced EHS employee for various clients who do not have existing or sufficient EHS staff (i.e. working at client facilities on a routine basis to ensure EHS compliance),
  • Delivering training on EHS compliance subjects,
  • Conducting proactive mock-EPA/DEP compliance evaluations,
  • Providing client assistance during and after regulatory inspections

This self-motivated, senior-level person must have a comprehensive understanding of environmental regulations (federal EPA and Maine DEP at a minimum). Understanding of OSHA standards, best industry practices and international standards (ISO and OHSAS) is preferred, but not required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential in order to ensure effective communication between the Senior EHS Professional, coworkers and clients. The individual in this position will demonstrate a high degree of resourcefulness, foresight, and sensible judgment in identifying and addressing EHS issues; the ability to determine current and potential project objectives and requirements; skill in managing, presenting, and completing projects and dedication to continually enhancing internal templates and approaches for various EHS projects. Integrity and professionalism in working with colleagues and clients is expected at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in EHS consulting with demonstrated project management experience.

  • Dedication to function as a company representative while working at client facilities
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills in problem solving

  • Ability to interpret and apply state and federal regulations
  • Basic computer skills (proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Routine travel using a personal vehicle (mileage is reimbursed) within New England (primarily within a three hour drive of our office)
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Physical demands: While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is often required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, walk (at times over uneven surfaces), reach with arms and hands, and to stoop or kneel. Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and/or clothing (e.g. steel-toed boots, tyvek suits, etc.) is routinely required. At times, lifting of equipment weighing up to 50 pounds may be required. Work environments range from office to industrial indoor settings to outdoors in all weather conditions.
