DAMARISCOTTA - Seniors in the Midcoast area will soon have a new retirement community providing a continuum of care to residents.

Pine Meadow Estates will include 35 cottages and an inn consisting of 40 independent living apartments, 30 assisted living units, and capacity to accommodate 14 residents requiring care due to memory loss.

Damariscotta resident Sean Welton is providing the vision for this new community resource. "Damariscotta seniors need a place to retire that is close to home and family" said Welton, who noted that 99 percent of area retirement facilities are filled and retirees are being forced to look outside of the community for options. Welton is also the owner of Community Oxygen Services, which provides oxygen and medical supplies to Midcoast elderly.

St.Germain Collins Inc. is helping Sean turn his idea into reality. Experienced engineers and scientists evaluated Sean's property and developed a plan to minimize natural resource impacts, maximize residential capacity, and integrate the facility harmoniously into the landscape.

St.Germain assembled a Maine based project team with specific expertise in retirement living. Gawron-Turgeon Architects were selected for their reputation in architecture and landscaping and their experience on similar projects. Allied/Cook Construction was brought on for their decades of experience in providing professional building related services. Together, this team of independent Maine companies has the expertise to take this project from conceptual drawing through groundbreaking to final ribbon-cutting.

Whether your project is regulated by planning board or state or federal agency, St.Germain Collins can plot a route to success through the complex matrix of environmental regulations. From site development to waste disposal, remediation technology, to regulatory compliance, the St.Germain Collins team has the experience to turn your project goals into reality.
